I have just taken possession of a gorgeous 97 Z3 - 2.8 - 5 speed - 44k miles. Everything works and it drives great but I have very little maintenance history and no history on the cooling system. I will investigate replacing belts, hoses, plastic reservoir but here is the Question – How deep do I go? Radiator? Water pump? Thermostat? Heater hoses? And the MAIN QUESTION…There are plastic pipes under the manifold that look like they tie into the heater. Are these plastic pipes under the manifold a known problem? Accessing them looks like a big pain especially dealing with the hardware on a 24-year-old car. Any thoughts would be appreciated! -Joe
