05 1.6. New cats and 02 sensors. Keeps throwing 2097 code - "post cat 02 sensor bank 1 rich". I can clear code and it comes right back.I've seen several threads and chatter on the interweb. but no solutions!

Any ideas out there? My mechanic is stumped!

    Thanks!

Have you cleared the adaptations in the DME yet. Also did you replace both the upstream and downstream O2 sensors?

That may be it. How does one clear the adaptations in the DME? Does disconnecting the battery clear them? I've seen threads with folks confusing resetting the dash with resetting the DME.

You would need a scan tool that has the ability to go in a clear adaptations. Disconnecting the battery will not reset them.

Thanks. The Snap On scan tool he was using doesn't provide that for BMW/Mini. I'll make a trip to a independent shop to clear them out.

    Thanks!
