I may need to change the xenon bulb in one of my 2000-328i headlights very soon. Can someone bring me up to speed on the difficulty/complexity of doing this changeout, also the approximate amount of time it takes?

    Many thanks,
    Jeff

It's very very very easy. You can do it on the car or if you want take out the headlight itself.

pop out the cover to the bulb
turn the ignitor (red part) and it will come out
and the bulb should come out with it
be sure not to touch the bulb on the housing
    reverse order

Ditto on not touching the bulb. I typically wear a set of surgical gloves when doing this. The oils in our hands tends to shorten bulb life (or so I have been told).
