I have to thank Mgarrison for making me think about this in his response to something I wrote in another thread.

I had my lifters and cylinder head replaced this week. My question is, do I need to break in the new cylinder head gently or can I drive like I always do? If I do need to break the head in do you have any guidance on how I should do this?

My car: 07' Z4 3.0i with sports package, 26000 miles on it.

    thanks!

If your normal driving is "normal" then you should be fine. I would not use max revs for a few hundred miles to give the valve guides/lifters time to burnish in a bit.
