Those of you who also frequent mye28.com may have already seen the below thread. Today, I got the calipers from a 1994 540i to upgrade the brakes on my 1988 535is. They are in good condition but I want to rebuild. After disassembling and cleaning, I plan to bead blast and paint. I cannot afford powder coating. I am getting the caliper piston and guide repair kits. I want to hone the piston bore but wanted to findout if there was any problems to be aware of honing these calipers and determine what grit stone or class hone should be used? I do not want to assume it is the same as the engine cylinders.
