I have a 2008 328xi and am looking to do plugs and coils.
I see that the Delphi coils 12138616153 were originally for the turbo N54 engine but Turner says they're now approved for use in the N52 as well as of March 2015. I can buy these coils for about $40 a pop but I also noticed that the old Bosch coils are actually much cheaper now.

Are there any benefits of the Delphi coils that would have caused BMW to switch suppliers? They look a bit more solid in construction but I don't know if it would be worth the added cost.

The only reason for the switch is because bosch could not keep up with production demands so delphi stepped in and helped both work great and have been updated. So go with whats cheaper for yourself.
