I am looking for the small plastic tabs that lock the battery cover in place. A parts guy at my local dealer told me I must buy the entire battery box cover, to get the locking tabs ($110.00). Is that true? Does anyone know if the Tabs are sold as a indivual part? Also, does the Z4 Roadster and M Roadster have the same battery cover and tabs as my M Z4 Coupe? Thanks Rich 2007 M Coupe ( Missing a battery tab)!
M Coupe and Roadster look to be different parts. Roadster 51478040193 http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts.do?model=BT93&mospid=49345&btnr=51_6052&hg=51&fg=80&hl=1 M Coupe 51473448391 http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts.do?model=DU93&mospid=49424&btnr=51_6101&hg=51&fg=65 The tabs are probably molded into the cover. getbmwparts.com has it for $82.71 if that is the part.
The locking tabs, part number (51718215962) were sold individually for .69 cents a piece. The parts were found on the schematic. So, the info given me by the dealers parts department was in error. Thanks again! Rich
Good work! It appears those "locks" are also used to hold a piece of trunk floor trim in place. http://www.realoem.com/bmw/partxref.do?part=51718215962&showus=1&showeur=&series=E86
You want part #11 for the battery cover locks. These are not used to secure floor trim. The parts diagram can be confusing when trying to locate fasteners and trim pieces.
