I keep finding particles of what appears to be orange rubber around the shifter base on my E36. These particles are similar although slightly larger than the dust from a simple pencil eraser. No doubt a rubber gasket of some sort is breaking down. Any insight/advice before I start to take this apart ?? Thanks
