Beside my idler bearing, I am told that the pulley on the AC unit disintegrated which it did and that I will need an entire compressor because this unit is not replaceable. Also I will need a new dryer. The 328xi only has 36000 miles on it. I don't understand why.

May I ask as to what part of the pulley got damaged? Not understanding why you would need a new dryer for a repair like that. But if the compressor had a internal failure yes I could see why then because the compressor could of sent metal into the dryer causing some blockage in the system.
