I have a '92 535i 5speed that seems to be having an anti-lock issue. Just after starting the car and moving forward about 5ft, the anti-locks pulsate for approx. 1 sec. This will happen either by driving forward with the help of the engine or coasting. The ABS light comes on and goes out (as it normally would) before this scenario even happens? And I have no other braking or ABS issues afterward. I'm thinking it's the sensor? Any advise would be appreciated.

    Thanks

A mechanic once advised me to look for ABS problems first in the wiring to the sensors, especially at the front wheels, where it sees a lot of flexing. His testing method was to connect an ohmmeter to the terminal connectors and watch the reading as you flex up and down the length of the wire. If you lose continuity at some point as you bend the wire, you've found a break.

This is normal. The ABS tests itself.
