    Hey there all
I sadly ruined the original aluminum block in my 98 Z3. i bought a rebuild from Griffin imports in Georgia. Does anyone have any history with them?
also they sent a cast iron block instead of an aluminum? does that make sense? 51# weight diff, could that be a prob?
    any help greatly appreciated

They could have sent you the wrong engine. Return it and go to bmrparts.com. How did you ruin the original block? Overheating?

Yes overheating, put it away for the winter, started it up every 3 weeks or so to get oil through it, Started it last February, went in the house for 1/2 hour or so, thermastat stuck ran red lined the whole time. Did not sieze but cracked the radiator, wasted the head gasket and developed a very nasty bottom end knock, heads totally warped.
