i recently mounted these Continental tires on my E90 335i and was immediately suspicious about a decline in gas mileage. I replaced some 225/40ZR-18 Goodyear Eagle GTs. I used to get 29 mpg hwy and now get 25. I bumped the air pressure to 40 psi at all corners which helped ever so slightly. I don't think the rubber is all that soft on the Continentals considering they are rated for something like 50,000 miles.

They do not appear to be directional, and the correct side is mounted out.

    Has anyone else experienced this?

    Hmmm, that seems odd. These

Hmmm, that seems odd. These are supposed to rated as low rolling resistance, high mileage tires. I mounted a set on my 03 325xiT a little over a eyar ago. I can say that I noticed a huge improvement in fuel economy, but I sure didn't get a 4 mpg drop.
