I currently own a 2013 740Li with 92,000 miles. About a year ago, maybe more, the driver's door handle had to be replaced, because it would not lock or unlock when it was touched when you wanted to enter the car or lock when you walked away from it. The car is now in the shop because both rear doors are having a similar problem of not locking or unlocking when touched. Has this been a common issue with BMW's? It has also affected the way my remote responds to the car, when I approach it. The car begins to "click" as I approach, but there is no action on the rear door locks.
Does this only happen with comfort access? If you use the remote do the doors lock and unlock normally?
If I use the remote the doors will lock, except for the right rear door. I was just trying to determine if this was a common problem. The car has been a pretty good performer, but electrical issues like this just irritate me. The dealer has had the car for a week, so hopefully it will be completed this week. I will advise.
