it's already available as an option if you want one, but i don't know if they're already being delivered or when they'd be delivering them if they aren't yet.
Just picked up an '08 M3 Sedan with DCT. Coming from a 2002 M3 SMG the DCT is such a big difference and very happy with the new technology. I just hope the DCT transmission and clutch pack unit will last the lifetime of the car. The DCT transmission alone is a whopping $10,000 just by itself. Clutch pack units aren't sold separately so you gotta get a new transmission if that fails. =/
just upgraded my 08 6MT M3 for an 09 DCT M3 w/ new iDrive the driving fun factor multiplied .... simply a very nimble much faster driving experience I had reservation with DCT last May.. but currently enjoying it now. This is the way to go Gents. The DCT is a very good compliment to the cars V8 power and MDM. Fun Factor of 10.
