Is it possible to have the navigation unit in a 2001 740i repaired or do you have to shell out the $2400 for a new one? Also has anyone replaced the nav with an aftermarket stereo unit that fit the oversized hole in the dash?
I believe there are filler plates that can be purchased that will properly fill this hole and leave one just big enough for the aftermarket unit. Check with the manufacturer of the aftermarket unit if this is what you plan to do.
