In the October issue of Roundel, Bob Roemer reports that the 1 Series M Coupe will be powered by a N55. Most other journals are reporting BMW is using a further tuned N54 sourced from the 335is. What have you all heard?

    My mistake

I should have caught that, since I know that the 1 Series M coupe, like the Z435is, has the N54 twin-turbo, not the N55 single twin-scroll turbo. . . .

Yup... an uprated N54. Sweeeeeeeeeeet. It would be nice if it get's a slight hp/tq upgrade from the 330hp x35is variants now out there. After all, it's an M, right?

By the time this thing hits the market, I'll be hitting 100k miles in my E92 335i. The 1 Series M Coupe seems a natural successor. Oh yes.

I can't wait for the unveil in January.
