IF it reoccurs - get it to a dealer for proper diagnosis & ....accurate fault code read out with treatment it's more than any shadetree hack can...
E46 with the shAkEs ....and it can be a sticking brake caliper - piston - remove the wheels and inspect/service the pads/calipers/sliding pins...

new fan hits ?alternator I would suspect you have a non-original alternator on the motor, and that needs 'adjusting' ? - not a fault of the fan ?...
