I read in Roundel (I think) that there would be a dedicated area (at the hotel??) for attendees to wash their cars while in Monterrey. Like many others here, by the time I travel 1500 miles to Monterrey, my little BMW will not be so shiny! I'm also trying to cut down on the amount of stuff I pack in the car for the trip. For example, do I need to bring my own wash buckets? I would bring my own soap, towels, waxes, etc...but if clean wash mits, buckets and hoses are provided that sure would be a plus! This is probably a "newbie" question, but it's my first O-fest and want to come prepared! ;-) Cheers.
We will supply water, buckets and normally have soap and washing mits. Generally we have not supply towels and rags.
Fortunately, you will be surrounded with people who will have lots of stuff to share with you! Mike Ura saved me in Alabama with some goo that took off the road tar!
Thanks for the info...that's great! I'm coming in a few days early for the Festorics at Laguna Seca. What day will the washing station be available? (and where is it located?) Any chance I could come give the ole' girl a wash on Saturday or Sunday morning? Would hate to show up "dirty" at the Festorics Corral on Sunday. ;-)
I would expect the washing station to be open Monday afternoon the week of Ofest. The hotel is very busy with activity the weekend before. I'm sure there are car washes locally. Cars get pretty dusty in the Corral.
Bring some Optimum ONR and bring a collapsible bucket, microfiber towels, etc. It does an outstanding job with no scratching. Then you can wash anywhere, anytime (as long as you can fill the bucket with water) along your trip.

You could use the car wash I've used a few times! It's almost right on the corner of Fremont and Del Rey!
