    Welcome Hawaii BMW CCA Members.
Say something about yourself and of course about your car(s).

My name is Thomas and i have been a member for going on 8 or 9 years now. Right now i am living in Hawaii but i have lived all over the country thanks to 15+ years in the US Navy.
I am still driving my first BMW, the 318ti i bought years and years ago but have also added a few others to the garage; Mcoupe, 525it, and recently an X1 Sdrive28.

This is my first post on BMW forum so bear with me if I am completely out of context. I have owned a number of BMWs over the years. I have loved most of them, the 2001 740i being among my favorites. I am currently interested in an 2003 M5. I am well aware of the maintenance and financial commitment of owning a BMW. Does anyone have suggestions as to what I should be most concerned about with this particular model?

I think there are many that may regard the E39 M5 as one of the best ever - that being said, your best bet to accumulate info is just google search 'BMW E39 M5 issues' (or problems) and take in (with a grain of salt) the various youtube videos, results, and forum posts that come up. Personally, I tend to give the most credence to well written detailed posts on the various BMW-specific forums such as bimmerforums, bimmerpost, bimmerfest, etc., & here. You can also search these forums and since there are model specific subforums here, also search or look over posts there as well. Welcome aboard!
