Just noticed I am missing 5 valve cover nuts, very curious.. The book says 80lbs of torque but this seems excessive for such small nuts. Does anyone know if this is true?
That's 80 in-lbs, not ft-lbs which is what you're thinking of. That's roughly 7 ft-lbs. I never use a torque wrench on valve cover nuts, but just be sure to follow the proper sequence.
