My wifey's E46 325xi A/C decided to start blowing hot air this morning. Now sometime this week I will bring it to the dealer (I say dealer and not stealer because it is still covered under CPO ). Just the inconvenience, ya know? It has 73K on it (2/03 born on date), so it could be anything as small as a leak to the compressor being shot. For only a $50 deductible, not too shabby. Now my first car that I got Christmas '96, a 1987 528e finally got flat-bedded to the local indy bmw shop to get a battery and alternator. When the car is jump-started, it quickly dies once the charger is removed from the battery connectors (I had the car running for 1/2 hoping the alternator would charge up). This is my fault, as I decided to leave the car at my fathers house since last September. I wonder if she (528e) will ever forgive me......
She has been great in the almost 12 years since I have had her. The car is done with a bill of $590. My mechanic allows me to pay him off over time, plus I work for him on Saturday morning cleaning up the shop and washing cars, so I am thankful for that. Alternator, battery, NYS Inspection and a few other things were done to the car. I gotta wash it up as it is DIRTY and do a full detail. I also need to do an oil change and get new hood, trunk emblems, as they are completely faded. A tune-up and a valve adjustment will be done in the fall when my $$$ situation improves. For now, I will just drive it around town to get the fluids going.
