Has anyone tried replacing the intake manifold with the 3 stage unit from the 2006 330i or X3 with the 255 HP engine? From what I've learned this is the main ingredient for the extra power, with a big increase in torque. Turner makes a kit for the 2006 325i that includes the manifold and also larger headers and cats for $4K. But I wonder if most of the increase is available by just swapping out the intake manifold? Here is a forum post on that. http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=37444 It is move involved than just swapping out the manifold. You need software to control the the actuator motors that open/close the flaps.
Thanks......... ........if it sounds too good to be true, usually is. The Turner kit does indeed require a software upgrade. We really like the Montego Blue first offered in 2007, but a 2006 fits our budget(?) better anyway.
