I don’t really fix other people’s cars for money, but every once in a while I do favors for people, particularly if they tell me a good story. Last year, a guy who found my contact information on bmw2002faq called me (and who calls anyone these days, really?).

A month has gone by without the 228i I borrowed from BMW USA, and I really miss it! We had some great times together, from short adventures to longer ones, and each time I got behind the wheel I always seemed to fall more and more in love with that car.

As those of you who follow me on Facebook know, I’ve had a bit of a hiccup in my professional life. I am no longer full-time at Bentley Publishers. I have gone back to the geophysics job I had for 30 years, at least for now, and will likely be working with Bentley on a project-by-project basis.

Lately, I have been unhappy about my ownership experience with my 330i Touring. As I write this, it is just shy of the 150,000-mile milestone, and it has twice left me stranded—once with a bad battery terminal, and another time with a bad starter motor.
