Have a loud idler pulley on my 2005 2.5 Z4 so figured I'd do all pulleys and tensioners and water pump at the same time. Done it many times on 2.5/3.0 sedans, well I'm making good progress and it turns out that you have to unbolt the left engine mount and raise the engine to remove the water pump because it absolutely wont clear the brace in front of the engine that is part of the body i.e. welded in place. Could have easily made a little room there when they designed it. I'm taking the rest of the day off, but if your planning this simple DIY at about 60k miles be aware its a little more involved with more risk since you have to unbolt and jack up your engine with a piece of wood under the oil pan. I'll finish the job another day. Bart in Florida
