it is great in the back road twisties... lets you engine-brake, which is good for break in, but also good fun to feel that compression, albeit in 'reverse', of 11.5:1.
3rd or any gear I love the way third jams your head back into the seat when the "go pedal" is depressed,but the feeling you get in a hard turn when you down shift is nothing short of religious. PS It is also a lot of fun to let the kids in their Tokyo Drifts have 1st, and 2nd, than tromp on the gas and take them apart with 3rd. Not that I would ever do something like that to an innocent child.
