X-3 2004 Brake question Hello fellow members, A few days ago I had a little too much extra time on my hands and decided to pull all the wheels off the X-3 to degrease and moderately pressure clean the suspension components, brake components including rotors, calipers etc , wheel wells, rims and any other parts that seemed to have evidence of the 35,000. S. Florida highway miles on my baby. Needless to say the car now looks like it just left the factory floor But now I notice that the brake pedal seems a little higher and they stop like they are almost brand new. I checked the master cyl resevoir and the fluid level doesn't seem to have risen. Question: can I have done any damage, do brake pads swell slightly when wet. Or did the removal of 35,000. miles of brake dust, road grime and dirt have positively effected the brake performance. The pads appear to have plenty life left and I plan to bleed the brakes next week. Any comments and opinions would be appreciated. Thanks, Norm..
