I see that a recall was issued, however I have moved since purchase and need to know if my 2003 X-5 3.0i is involved.

Maybe you are referring to this? http://www-odi.nhtsa.dot.gov/recalls/ Enter 11V521 in the quick search field. OR are you referring to http://www.bmwcca.org/node/4032? I've been googling for 10 minutes now and all I can find is the exact same text on multiple blogs. It's all so general.
