Well, I got the drivers door finished yesterday!!! It was so easy! I can't believe people pay 500.00 a door to get this done. The new regulators were 120.00 bucks or so from Bavarin Auto Parts. I wish I'd taken pics. Anywho, if anyone needs a hand on this repair or wants to discuss it give me a shout! It took about 2 hours with me bsing with folks standing around watching. The pasenger door will get done today. All this started when my windows began making an ugly nosie at the top of their movement ( closed completely). It caused the window to chatter if you kept holding the button down. What a noise! I was told it was the motor but that didn't make sense, the window still worked. Anywho, it was an easy fix. I'll try and take pics tonight as I replace this one and even do a time hack. The 88 3251s should be detailed and list in the next two for sale. Zdaneman sends
Passanger window regulator in! Sweet! Well, it still blows me away that shops in the National Capital Region get $500.00 a door for doing this service. I did the passanger side this evening in about 1 1/2 hours. I even found out that the local shop that replaced a door handle for me replaced the door handle a while back installed the skin wrong as well as the window seal clips. I should have done it myself. but I had the car in for a complete parking break assembly redo, so I said just do this while you've got it. A so called expert BMW mech did it wrong! Just goes to show you most side shop mechanics today don't know squat about an E-30 and I'd be willing to be most stealerships mechs are just as bad. Any who, I took pics as I replaced the window regulator. Its really pretty simple and the tools required are pretty basic. Sorry, I got lost in the Isle of Man TT sidecar race. Just drop me a line and I'll be glad to give anyone tips on replacing their window regulators. Oh, I don't recommend the beer unless you've done this before! Zdaneman sends
