I have a 2006 BMW 550i that has only 54k miles on it and it blows white smoke after sometimes. What could cause this and how much would it cost to fix? Would BMW fix it, only 54k miles. Thanks

White smoke is oil burning. First thing to check is the crank case vent valves being torn. They are located on valve covers look like round discs. Remove the covers and look to see if the rubber diaphragm is torn. If so they need to be replaced. If they are both good then most likely the issue is your valve stem seals have hardened and are allowing oil to get past and be burned in the combustion chamber. If you have no running issues I doubt you have issues coming from the piston rings. With the age of the car I doubt BMW will assist.
