when i am accelerating - right around 1,500 RPMs - i get this awful whistling noise under the car that sounds like a weed eater. The BMW dealer says that it is a common noise and caused by air hitting a plate when I accelerate, but the noise is really annoying and not something i expect a BMW to make is anyone else experiencing the same noise, or has anyone had it fixed?
Hi - I had the same thing on my 2003 X5. BMW told me it was a decel valve - they replaced it and it's better, but not 100% gone By the way, I've noticed it in a lot of other X5s that have driven past...seems to be a common problem!
