Most people refer to the older 1st gen cars, called E85s (roadsters/convertibles with either a removable hardtop or a folding fabric soft top) or E86s (fixed roof coupes), built from 2002 to 2008. The newer 2nd generation cars are considered to be E89's. These are 2009 to current model year cars, and are all folding metal roof convertibles.
