We have been talking about this for several years, and well what the heck... let's do this!! Join the Patroon Chapter as we celebrate all vintage BMW's! We will be gathering at the Saratoga Auto Museum on Sunday July 18th for a non-judged show on the well manicured lawns of Saratoga State Park. We are currently planning some activities for Saturday for those who want to experience Saratoga summer. Everyone is invited to attend, and the cut-off for models on display will be E23s, E24s, E28s, E30s along with anything older. Registration will be handled through the Museums web site and will be announced when it is available. A host hotel is being set up and will also be announced when accommodations are firmed up. This area truly offers something for everyone. Within 15 miles is a casino, horse racing, bicycle trails, several lakes and steams for water activities, a drive in movie theater, outlet shopping, great dining, and the Albany/Saratoga Speedway. Please set aside this weekend to come and join us.
Maybe.... maybe not That would be seven months if you want to bring it up for the Concours on June 12th, but you have such a wide stable to choose from....
Scott, I added your event to the CVC Facebook page, I'll also ask Iggy, our webmaster to add it to the CVC website. Let me know if you have a preferred graphic for the event that I can add to the Facebook event announcement.
Thank you Lance! The graphic is being worked on, and upon completion I will get it sent through. Just through word of mouth we are looking at 30 cars already... lots of interest over in the 2002 forums. Good karma to you!
Definitely going, with the S50 sitting obediently in the engine bay. Bring the E30, Scott!! I still haven't seen the darned thing!
It hasn't changed much from when you were all over it at the Bring More Wax gathering in CT last summer, besides TeamStowell putting 8,000 miles on it in the four months we have owned it. Although, next spring there may be a Dinan badge on the back end of it....
lodging for the weekend available We are getting the web site set up for Vintage at Saratoga. You can access it at www.vintageatsaratoga.com, and the lodging link is now available. The registration is being handled by the Saratoga Auto Museum and will be available in early January. Please share this event information with your fellow BMW enthusiasts.
There is now a link from the Vintage at Saratoga website to our forum. Use it to set up caravans, share information and show us your car. Check it out.
Old post, I know, but I just noticed something: The white ix that was there, that's the one you bought?!?! That thing was clean, though disappointingly had a completely unacceptable transmission...
Happy Wife = Happy Life You are not paying attention Botond.... over the past few years we have known each other I have tried to instill in you the basic attributes of a good spouse. If your sig other wants a back up vehicle that he or she can drive, you put it in the driveway for them. Then, the third, fourth and fifth cars can be whatever you want without guilt or arguement!!! And yes, Beverly can drive a stick (and repair her brakes etc.) but chooses not to.
The 325ix is a automatic . Scott, lose my number. I should be talking....I have two cars that are automatics I have brainwashed Carol into agreeing that our next BMW will be a E36 M3 with a stick.
Bah, Bev doesn't know what she's missing out on! The rule will be: I will never sell a car to "make room for" a bloody minivan or something as atrocious as that. This will be non-negotiable! So I supposed an automatic is somewhat alright as long as it's in a car that's worth driving in the first place. No slushbox 4-banger here, that's for sure. I'm done with those (drove one for 1.5 year before I bought mein E30)
Registration is now open!!!! You can now register for our event. Follow the link on our site below to get to the Saratoga Automobile Museum and lawn show registration. List your car on the Vintage at Saratoga forum so we can see who's attending, form caravans, etc. http://vintageatsaratoga.com
... and two make three!! Beverly and I are in! Does that make it an organization, or do we need more people singing according to Arlo? We need to make it a movement!!! You can drive anything you want, to the Saratoga bottling plant (exceptin' Audis)
Officer Obie wants to know.. Is a red VW microbus with a half a ton of garbage in the back eligible for the show?
I think a weekend in Saratoga is a great birthday present from Carol! Is a somewhat-vintage E30 with a not-so-vintage engine eligible? Not only is it eligible and welcome, it can give drifting demonstrations at the Fairfield parking lot.
