    DIY Saved Me Again...Success Story!

I should've posted this a while ago but have been avoiding posting on the forums due to more Bf.c nonsense after my last positive post there. Amazing how some of those guys immediately attack me when I share a positive story...:( I guess I'll just share them here. :)

The 540 had all the classic symptoms of a CCV failure and after researching extensively, I narrowed it down as positively being the CCV. I DIY'd and saved $500 (shop quoted $550 because the intake manifold has to be removed...total BS) and it solved almost all of the symptoms, which made it seem like the engine needed to be replaced. I seriously thought the engine was toast!

After the replacement, she ran like a champ so if you suddenly experience misfires, rough idle and blue smoke...buck up and don't trash your ride as the CCV is the culprit! :D

I appreciate all of your input. I was worried as you hadn't posted here in a while. Thought you may have sold the car, or just given up. Glad to see you back, although you have issues to report and that isn't good news.
