Just bought my first M3 a used 2008 coupe. I'm looking for a independent shop that knows this car.Being used you never know who or how they drove it. Its still under warranty for about 6 mos. or so but the dealer seems a little iffy about some issues. The trans (6 speed ) seems noisy and shifts kind of sloppy. When stopped at a light I always put it in neutral and when its warmed up you can hear the bearing noise. Also the drive train seems sloppy. I've been in other manual cars and this seems much noisier, also 2nd is clunky like the syncros are worn. I don't think i"m being picky but I don't want to pay 6or7 grand in a year to replace the tranny. Any help out there??

You may want to check with someone in the Los Angeles Chapter for recommendations.
You may also want to go to http://www.bimrs.org/ --> Locations United States --> California for a list of independents.
