Our first cruise of 2012 will be a tour through the back county to the desert and back. There are some great curvy roads that will excite you and your Ultimate Driving Machine. Maybe the desert flowers will be blooming for the enjoyment of everyone. We will meet at Bad Ass Coffee in Rancho Penasquitos at 9:30 AM on Sunday, 4/22 and experience some spirited driving though the east county, down Montezuma Grade to Borrego Springs for lunch, back up the Banner Grade to Julian, and then to the ending point in Ramona. There will be two brief rest stops plus the lunch stop. The distance is 140 miles and the estimated driving time, not including rest stops and lunch is 3:49 hours, so plan on a full day. At the ending point at the junction of highways 67 and 78 drivers can go toward San Diego or go west to interstate highways 15 or 5.
