Reset brake warning light?

Hello, brand new member here - seeking support for my new-to-me 2008 328xi Touring, E91, N52. Lots of miles but I'm well used to getting dirty and, for the most part, fixing stuff.

Question: Just replaced the RR brake wear sensor wire that was broken at the pad connector, pads and rotors look fine, lots of life left on them. I've still got the "BRAKE" warning light showing. Do I need to reset something for that to go out?

Loving the car but it needs a little TLC. Needs shocks, probably springs and a good cleaning and rust remediation underneath. Really like the auto trans (blasphemy?!) - good, quick, smooth shifts.

    Thanks in advance!

Welcome aboard! I wouldn't guess the pad wear sensor would need some sort of resetting procedure but I couldn't swear to it - I think it's mostly service-interval types of stuff for resetting. If you diy a lot the Bentley manual might seem pricey but having a good reference in hand can be really helpful. Always tons of stuff to be had by internet searching but of course you have to wade through it. I'd guess the typical suspects for the warning light trigger after the pad sensor would be abs sensor, low fluid (or bad/broken wires from the fluid level sensor in the cap - or, possibly, sensor itself bad although would guess unlikely on that), or the abs computer itself. Check the other pad sensor too.
