How does one remove the rear driver side backseat panel in order to replace the front seat belt? My current belt no longer retracts. Thanks.

If you're talking about the panel with the speaker perforations in it, just pry 'er out...very gently, of course. It'll just pop out after some wiggling.

No, not just the speaker panel -- the whole side where the seat belt emanates from.

The procedure is covered in Bentley Manual in Section 14 subsection 4.5. Apparently you have to remove rear seat and rear backrest. You also have to pull off the speaker trim panels to remove a couple of trim screws (there is a diagram specifically for the convertible).
