I drive a 2001 330xi. I accidentally kicked my lower driver-side speaker grill (factory premium system) It now has a big crack in it. Is this a part that can be ordered and replaced or will I have to replace the whole door panel?
Yes, you can replace just the speaker grill. You will want to chek out a site called www.realoem.com. It's incredibly useful when it comes to finding information like this. Here's a snapshot of the door panel off of that site: You may have to replace it from behind (need to pull the panel off the door) but you don't have to replace the whole thing. Hope that helps!
So, I finally got around to checking out that site in detail. As shown in your screenshot, there are three different part numbers for the left loudspeaker cover. The only differentiating information are the words Scwharz, Grau, Hellbeige. Are these colors? If so, which do I need? I have a black exterior with a blue/gray leather interior. If these are not colors, how do I choose which part I need?
Yes, those are the three color options available for the speaker panels. Schwarz = Black, Grau = Gray, Hellbeige = Beige. Sounds like you have the gray one. If you are unsure, the dealer can tell you exactly what color you have.
Just received it today. Sure enough, I had the gray one. Thanks for the info! Is there a guide for removing the door panels on an E46 sedan? I want to do this myself but I don't want to screw anything up like triggering the airbag or something.
