I have a 1997 E36 M3 with 164k miles and have removed my liquid /vapor separator from the car because I'm changing the fuel tank pressure sensor. I noticed that the separator has a distinct rattle in it (maybe the roll over valve?) and wondering if this is typical or if the separator should be changed as well while I'm changing the pressure sensor. Thanks in advance for any help and do appreciate it.

It seems that its OK for the liquid/vapor separator to have a rattle. I've installed the new pressure sensor and have my car back together thinking (and hoping) that the roll-over valve was the source of the rattle. As it turns out, it must be ok for the separator tank to rattle since the car is running great with no check engine light!
