I went window shopping for a car stereo, and was throughly disappointed by all of the "Sony Xplod clones." Garish colors, neon-looking blue backlighting. I had no idea Marilyn Manson had gone into the car stereo business.

Other than the Z3 Business CD (last year of production 2002), does anybody MAKE a modern car stereo that's not wearing the equivalent of disco-era appearance and color coordination? Something that looks like it would blend in better with my car's interior, or am I relegated to 8+ year old head units?

I surprised that really old cars like Mustangs, Camaros, and 57 Chevy's can get a modern car stereo that matches the rest of the interior, but a 1988 BMW 750iL is relegated to the 2002 model year from the Z3.

don't let the name fool you, it's actually a pretty decent headunit according to the people I know who have them
