Hi everyone. I've been a member of the BMWCCA for a few years despite not owning a BMW yet. My daily driver's getting long in the tooth and the market seems right to buy a new car, so I'm considering a 335 or a 335d. (What I really want is a 335 wagon, alas.) So, wish me luck in my car shopping experience, and maybe I'll be back here frequently asking boneheaded noob questions about maintenance and V1 wiring and stuff like that.

Welcome to the Club. Buy the Diesel!!!! The power will be unbelievable especially since you will get mid to high 30s mpg!!!!

I was brought up in the house of diesel. At one point in my childhood my parents had three diesels, a 67 Mercedes-Benz (they still have it), 1981 VW Vanagon Diesel (Yes they made these, yes it was a boxer motor, and yes they are as slow as Molasses in January), and an 86 VW Jetta Diesel. My mom drives a newer Jetta Diesel now, high 40s mpg on the highway!

Welcome to the forum. I've got the V1 hardwired into the 540.... very easy process when it comes time.
