hey everyone. i just ordered a timing belt from autopartwarehouse.com and a new water pump from bavauto.com. are these two online retailers safe and secure?!!!!
Bavauto is A ok. Never heard of the other one. Sounds ebay-ish. Everything I order I order from desertmotorworks.com Call em up, tell him snik sent you.
A friend of my orders from autopartwarehouse, he's had no problem. Bavauto is good, I also like and recommend autohausaz.com.
eBay isn't all bad ya know. Check your seller's feedback rating and to see if the part is kosher (OEM, not generic; new, not used; etc). I've gotten countless parts from there that I couldn't get anywhere else.
I'm not saying ebay is all bad, I've bought several items off ebay, never had a problem. I'm just saying that to say, if it is ebay store, you might wanna look into it more. So you don't get screwed, just incase.
ya, im pretty sure bavauto.com is good. not too sure about autopartswarehouse.com We'll see if my timing belt comes in on time and is the right part and i'll be sure to fill you guys in
Bavarian Auto is great. Been ordering parts and stuff from them for a few years. Turner Motorsport is another good place if you're more of a performance mind. Ebay; I've never ordered anything from them. The only thing I would be concerned with is getting a "knock-off" part that might be cheaper but not perform as well in the long term. My .02. Cheers...
I've ordered a number of items from autopartwarehouse.com and have had no problems at all. They carry name-brand products, they shipped really quick and they even followed up after the sale to make sure I got everything OK. At one point or another I've bought parts from all the suppliers listed (including Ebay) with extremely good results.
Great experience with BavAuto and a nightmare with AutoPartsWarehouse on something simple like the E39 Bentley Manuals. Took them forever to make it right, so I ended up canceling the order and thats when the nightmare continued. As has been said they claim to have alot of stuff, believe they are in SoCal, but C/S sounds like its routed to India or somewhere that doesnt speak english very well. And for me it went downhill from there. Good luck, hope you dont have to return anything.. DanF
i recommend both bavauto and autopartswarehouse. Recieved parts earlier than expected and they were exactly what i requested.
Autopartswarehouse.com Though very strong from a sales standpoint, I hope you will not have any experience returning item or dealing with ther "customer service" department. Long story short... Bought a part, shipped, delivered as expected...no problems. After returning the part 17 days ago, still no credit. Spoke to 8 different representatives across multiple phone calls, each of them with a different story as to what the status of my return was. In order to receive credit for a returned item, they require a shipping tracking number for the part, as proof that the customer shipped the part, even though they confirmed that they had received the part already!! During this process of determining the status of my return, they could not track the return via the autopartswarehouse.com supplied RMA number. Being put on hold to "check" on the status meant being put on hold for an extraordinarily long amount of time, usually to, what it appeared to be, an attempt to further delay and/or discourage the customer to pursue a reasonable conclusion to receiving a credit. When requesting to speak to a supervisor, you will be required to discuss your "concern" with the representative, "otherwise, there will be no supervisor". Please note that in this case, I had been working on my 6th call to them without resolution. Other issues included, opting to speak to customer service routes you to the sales department. When I requested for the customer service number, in one occassion they provided a number that's no longer in service. In another occassion, the number worked, chose the customer service extension, only to be connected, to, YES, another sales rep. Please note that sales reps are there to do just that, sell. They do not have any need, want, or desire, and for that matter business motivation to perform customer service duties. This attitude was very evident throughout my multiple calls with them. Lastly, I received an email from their "customer service" department requiring a tracking number again to provide POD (proof of delivery) to their warehouse. Shortly after receiving this email, I experimented by calling their "customer service" or sales department again (9th time), to which they confirmed they had received the part. Please note that this part was returned to them unused and in its original unopened package. If you buy from them, I hope you have a better experience. Regards
Autopartswarehouse.com part deux BTW, I think it's coincidental that another poster had a similar experience, in case you think these are the rantings of a disgruntled customer that has a skewed viewpoint. To the other poster with similar experience, in one occassion, I asked the rep if he lived in India, to which he replied that he's from Carson, CA (autopartswarehouse.com office/warehouse location). If he's from Carson, "I'm from the moon, Alice", in the words of Jackie Gleason!! Regards
Stay away from "bimmerpartswholesale.com" I had a VERY BAD experience with bimmerpartswholesale.com. I ordered a set of wiper blades which they claimed got shipped to Florida ( I am in California ) and then they stonewalled me about a refund or replacement! After about a dozen calls and E-mails, I gave up on them. Thank God I didn't buy somthing expensive! And thanks for the list of places I can buy from safely! P.S. I had originally posted this message and incorrectly blamed BimmerSpecialist for the bad service. Actually they had been great and I would suggest them as another VERY GOOD choice. They were quick, friendly, and gave me a good price. BIMMERSPECIALIST = GOOD GUYS BIMMERPARTSWHOLESALE = GO DIRECTLY TO JAIL, DO NOT PASS GO!
