I have a 2007 Z4 3.0i with the Sports and Premium package. I have noticed that when I insert the key into the ignition and turn it to position 1, I hear a brief sound from under the good that sounds like something 'tightening up' or like rubber rubbing against something. It's a very brief sound, very very audible sound and lasts a few seconds. When I first reported this problem to my dealership, the technician believed that this noise is from the headlight motors but also thought that the noise was excessively loud. They changed the stepper motors on one side but the problem continues to persist. My car isnot back with the dealer and is being inspected. Anyone else have similar problems?
