Proud new owner of a 2011 335i. Love everything about the car, best car I've ever had. I'm in the SF Bay area (Golden Gate Chapter I believe.)
Welcome to the asylum! Congratulations on your new rocket ship! Some of the inmates, of course, are going to warn you about the HPFP issues and other horror stories. . . but there are few BMWs more thrilling than the 335i!
It is what it is folks. No one is thrilled about the chronic N54/N55 engine issues but they are as real as a heart attack. It's better for consumers to know up front what they are in for before they buy these vehicles and experience the safety and service nightmares. When the 335i or any x35i model isn't broken down, in the shop for repairs or left you stranded on the side of the road, it is a fun vehicle. Full disclosure should be mandatory on safety issues such as the HPFP by all car makers. Review of BMW customer safety defect complaints filed at NHTSA.gov should be mandatory reading before anyone is allowed to purchase an x35i model new or used, IMO.
HPFP? Whats that? No turbos here yet! Congrats on the car! Don't let the crazies around here get to you!
