My wifes 2006 3.0si convertable is throwing a transmission warning light (yellow) . Local shop has checked fluids and all is normal. Vehicle is not throwing any codes. I checked both of these items as well before dropping it off. Current thought is its a sensor issue? This the first issue we've had with the car other than top motor getting water logged, which I replaced thanks to Shipkillers great instructions. The car only has 42K and is pretty much a garage queen! Anyone experienc this before? Thanks Zdaneman sends
How did you check the codes of the vehicle with a global OBD2 scanner? Global OBD2 scanners won't go into the transmission module for faults you would need a higher end reader with euro car data pack. How is the vehicle driving, does it have all its gears? I belive the transmission you have is a GM hydramatic and parts are easier to find then other BMW transmissions and can be rebuilt by many trans shops easily. Hope this helps and let me know if you get the faults pulled out of the transmission module.
