This will be my first time to O-fest. My car is an E46 M3 Convertible. As such, I can't drive it on the track. But I would like a chance to drive Laguna Seca. What are my options? Is it possible to share a car so I only do a portion of a day (and split the cost of a track day)? Alternative, if I have to pay for a full day, anyone open to sharing their car with me? I know, its a big ask to let someone else drive your car on a track. I'm an advanced driver and have been going to track days for 25 years. No damage ever.
You can't split the cost of the track. If you find someone to share both need to register for the full day and will run in separate run groups.
For those of you interested in driving a high-end, fast, safe and reliable BMW for the driver school at Oktoberfest, but don’t or can’t drive or tow your car, I have 2 cars available for rent at Laguna Seca for Oktoberfest. Car 1 is a 2008 BMW 135i. It weighs 3100 lbs with 385 hp and 400 ft/lbs of torque. The car uses 17x9 wheels with 255-40-17 R-Compound tires. This car has been prepared to the H-Sport rules in Club Racing and has 2 seats with matching harnesses. This car should be familiar to those of you who have watched any of the O’fest club races at Watkins Glen, Road Atlanta, Road America, Barber or Mid-Ohio. The cost of the 135i is $950 per day. This car has been prepared to the G-Prepared rules in Club Racing (full aero, big brakes) and has a single driver seat only. This car would be for an instructor or a student that has been signed off (i.e. no passenger). The cost of the E90 M3 is $1250 per day. They are both easy to drive and would have a comfortable feel to anyone familiar with driving BMWs. Both cars are gutted but still retain most factory comfort and ergonomics features (lights, wipers, adjustable seat, adjustable steering wheel, heater box, etc). Both cars will be delivered to Laguna Seca and are available for any of the 4 driver school days. Cost of the rental includes track support, use of our aluminum stacker trailer and 15'x40' canopy.
