Just took delivery of a new E93. I have tried everything the manual says but the shift lights (LEDs) don't work. Anyone else with that issue?

Dont you need to be at the high rev band for it to work?

It's disabled as the default setting. You can enable the shift lights by going through the menu option from the turn signal switch. That or read the owners manual. You can also do it through the iDrive menu screen.

    two observations:

You have to turn the feature on using idrive for both the M Drive setting and the pre-programmed key setting

they only work above 5000 - 6000 rpm so don't expect to see them turn on in day to day driving. find a lonely road and go for it to make sure they are not working.

There Is a Bug If You Don't Have I-Drive

I've read on M3Post that you can set the lights to stay operational if you have I-Drive. It takes a number of steps though. If you don't have I-Drive, the story is that you can set them to work when the engine is running, but they will be off again the next time you start the car. Hopefully it will be fixed in a future software update.

MY shift lights only work between 7800 and 8200...
I thought that they would come on earlier at about 4500-5000 and then stay on on until redline @ 8200

I believe that my friends E46 worked that way..Any Imput?
