Hi there - new member. Have a 2000 323ci. Top has never worked except manually. Local firm L&F took about $5000 replacing wiring harness and motor, but still couldn't get it to work. Said I might have to spend another $6000 before they had trouble shot it back to life. Stopped the process at that point. Now looking for a convertible top genius who can finally help me get this top working again. Any suggestions? Thanks! - Peter
$5k & another $6k? Ack! Wish I knew something to help, no experience with 'vert tops. Try some googling and check other forums - bimmerforums.com, bimmerfest.com, e46fanatics.com With any luck there's someone out there someplace who's gone down the path you're on & worked it out.
wow thats quite a bit for a wiring harness and motor. Sorry don't know any of the shops in the dc area. Does the top unlock from cowl or does it do nothing electrically? Do yo hear any noise? Does the light flash for the convert top?
