Though I am not from the Nyack area, my mechanic in Beacon (Dutchess County) Dr.K Imported Car Service is the best around. He specializes in BMW's and Italians as well. His rate is $82/hr. He would be willing to pick the car up from you and drop it off. He is open on Saturdays as well...........
I am looking for a good BMW mechanic around Nyack, NY (Rockland County area). I prefer not to take it to a dealer. I have a 2004 330ci and I smell a burning rubber smell from time to time out of the engine. Yesterday, I smelled the burning rubber and then saw a light white smoke out of the hood (looked a little like exhaust). When I check under the hood, I could not find anything burning and couldn't determine where it was coming from. Any thoughts suggestions on where to take it in this area and what it might be? Thanks.
Did you try checking the left side of your engine compartment (while facing it)? Check for oil by the exhaust header. The exhaust header gasket should be fairly clean. If not, that may be your problem. Good luck. Keep us posted.
