    Hi CCA,

Just arrived in Austin from St. Pete. I want to take my 5 in for an oil change and probably alignment (the roads were pretty poor), just past the 50k mark.

Any suggestions in the Austin area?
How is the dealer? I've seen mixed reviews - any service advisor better than the rest?
What do you think about having the alignment done?

    Thanks for the assistance,
    LJ

Don't write the local dealer off too quickly. Expensive , yes. Good work, most of the time. I had shimmy in my '00 540i that Terry Sayther's shop had no clue how to diagnose, and frankly weren't all that interested in trouble shooting. The dealer, including the service manager got into it and found it ultimately came down to wheel balance. They use a top of the line balancer with some amazing diagnostic capabilities and were able to finely balance the wheels and eliminate what had been a 9 month annoyance.
